Best beaches in l’Escala
In l’Escala there are a variety of beaches depending on what you are looking for.
Montgó is one of the most famous coves in the area: a small beach surrounded by mountains and trees, a perfect place to spend the day.
There are SUP boards available and you can hire kayaks to explore the coast from the sea, enter caves and snorkel. It is somewhere we recommend for this activity. There are also hotels, campsites and restaurants in the same area. When the Tramontane wind blows, Montgó is usually the most protected area, which means the water is calmer.
If you prefer pebble beaches to sandy beaches, Port d’en Perris is the place for you. It is a tiny pebble bay where you can relax in the middle of the town.
On the beaches of Empúries you will find a pedestrian promenade that takes you to different beaches around the ruins of Empúries. As you can see, each beach has something special to offer.
The Rec del Molí beach has an area reserved for animals. So if you are in l’Escala with your furry friend, you can enjoy this beach together.
