What is SUP Yoga

Anna | 4 August 2022

One of the most popular yoga classes in the summer is practising yoga while floating in the water on a stand-up paddle (SUP) board. What makes this practice so special is the balance work. Practising on an unstable surface such as water helps you to focus and be present.

Connect with the ocean, absorb the energy of the sun and breathe calmly while you float.

They are fun classes and if you get too hot during a class you can take a dip. When doing the most advanced poses, if you lose your balance you might fall in the water. On days when the water is really calm, you can also see fish swimming below you when you are doing the poses.

Everyone is free to choose their poses, which creates a riskier practice -meaning you might get wet but you will be able to focus and get more into the movement – or a calmer, more relaxing practice.

The best way to start your sunny and hot day on your holiday in l’Escala.
