What to do in l’Escala

Anna | 28 October 2022

The Costa Brava is full of interesting places and activities.

In the summer, there are lots of coves and beaches to discover. If you enjoy snorkelling or diving, l’Escala is the perfect place due to its clear waters and the richness of its marine fauna.

At noon, the marinada wind usually comes in, a wind that blows from sea to land and is great for sailing. There are several watersports schools where you can take courses, rent what you prefer or sign up for watersports.

Next to l’Escala is the municipality of Sant Pere Pescador, known for its beaches which are full of kites. In summer, this is the place for kitesurfing or windsurfing.

Music festivals! Check the dates you’ll be in l’Escala and you are bound to find an outdoor festival. There are lots of bars and restaurants.

If you like wine, try the new winery at Castell de Peralada. And if you are visiting with family, you can also visit the Mooma apple farm. You can take a guided tour of the orchards to learn about and discover the life of the apples. After you’ve tried their ciders and juices, you can enjoy a dinner in this magical place surrounded by the fruit.

If you enjoy walking and discovering new beaches, the l’Escala coastal path will take you to coves and other places in and around this municipality that are unreachable by car.

In summer, the Costa Brava has loads of activities, concerts and markets. Check the dates you’ll be here and there is bound to be something for you!
